From Idea to Implementation
The ybox24 journey began as a solution for key handovers in the shared car rental service ŠtěpánekAuto – Creditmall. What started as a simple idea for “key boxes” quickly evolved into a versatile system that facilitates the exchange of nearly any item – without requiring personal contact.
This solution connects people who cannot meet at a specific time and place but need to hand over important items. Whether it’s documents, keys, sold goods, or packages, ybox24 offers a practical and simple solution without the need for packaging or shipping.
Flexible Usage and Modern Technology
Using ybox24 is simple and intuitive. A one-time PIN code – generated via the mobile app pr directly at the box – enables secure depositing and collecting of parcels at any time.
This ease of use makes ybox24 indispensable for individuals and businesses alike. For companies, especially e-shops and brick-and-mortar stores, it offers flexible solutions such as parcel pick-up points or receiving deliveries from couriers. It’s a seamless way to enhance customer service while streamlining logistics.
The Path to Perfection
Behind its user-friendly design lies a sophisticated technological infrastructure. The development process included creating mobile applications and software tailored for these smart boxes. After rigorous testing, ybox24 is now fully operational and available to the public.
Development Plan
In December 2024, the first 40 yboxes were installed in Prague, with production ramping up steadily. Each month, an additional 20–25 units will be deployed.
By the end of 2025, up to 300 new boxes are expected to be installed across Prague alone. Expansion plans include rolling out yboxes in Brno and other major Czech cities before moving into Slovakia and additional European markets.
