Coin locks are available in two variants:
- Basic versions of the coin lock are supplied in a fixed design version for one nominal value and type of coin.
- The higher range of the twin-coin lock allows the use of two different coins and also allows the combination of a deposit and fee-based system.
BURG coin lock
The basic version of the coin lock of the German lock manufacturer BURG is distinguished above all by a favourable price-quality ratio. The locks are designed for one coin denomination and have factory settings to it. Versions for 1 EUR and 10 CZK coins are normally available in stock at the manufacturer’s plant. For coins of other denominations and currencies, locks are ordered directly for a specific project.
In these cases, the minimum order quantity is 20 pieces.
Function description
In vacant lockers, the key is fixed in the lock and the door is unlocked. The user puts his/her belongings in the locker, inserts a coin of the nominal value and currency indicated on the label into the slot located at the top of the lock, then locks the locker. After unlocking the locker, the key is fixed in the lock and the coin falls into the coin box.
The system administrator removes coins from the coin boxes at regular intervals to prevent overfilling and decommissioning of the locks.

Our recommendation
We recommend checking the lockers with coin locks at regular intervals and removing the collected coins. When the coin box is overfilled, the system becomes inoperable. More cash in the coin box can also increase the risk of theft.
Do not confuse storage lockers with safes. Forcible breakage of doors or locks with crowbars or similar tools can occur. We recommend placing the lockers under supervision or CCTV surveillance.
