In the caged changing rooms, which are accessible to many people, it is almost impossible to investigate any loss of personal belongings. Cleaning is also a difficult problem to solve.
Every parent will have personal experience of children as young as primary school lugging a heavy briefcase around daily. No one wants to put their children at risk of excessive strain on the musculoskeletal system and the resulting health risks.
School lockers solve these problems to a large extent. Some personal belongings and equipment can be left in the locker and only what is necessary for home preparation can be taken home. The weight of the briefcase is reduced to a more acceptable level and losses, slippers caps and shoes become a thing of the past.
We will be happy to advise you on a suitable solution
However, there is also a daunting task ahead for school management dealing with the modernisation of changing rooms. To choose the right locker room. Few people know that it is not enough just to choose the door layout, size, and colour of a school locker, but that safety, fire and quality considerations also need to be taken into account.
The situation is complicated by the fact that there are a large number of products on the market which, in terms of durability, materials and safety, are in no way suitable for use in school cloakrooms. If the tender documentation does not contain a very detailed description of the materials, safety and functional parameters used, the contracting authority runs the risk of supplying products that will not be able to withstand, in the long term, the often very destructive treatment of their users.
Below we describe the process of implementing one successful project. It concerns the equipment of school changing rooms in the Chlumec Primary School.
Project implementation procedure
INQUIRY CONSULTATION OFFER APPROVAL PRODUCTION INSTALLATION
1. Demand
In the middle of 2019, a representative of the client contacted us with a preliminary enquiry containing two variants of wardrobes. The aim was to check the market situation and make a preliminary selection of possible suppliers.
2. Consultation
We contacted the customer immediately, got to know his ideas in detail and recommended wardrobes in the reinforced version of the R3M model series, which we manufacture from sheet metal with increased strength and greater thickness. These school lockers have a number of additional safety features, which we describe in detail at the end of this article. We have presented our offer in the two versions requested. The first was for lockers that have two wing doors in one compartment above the other. The second version was for wardrobes with Z-shaped doors.
3. Offer
In early 2020, the contracting authority began face-to-face discussions with potential suppliers. Our project manager attended a meeting with the client's representatives in February and presented our recommended solution. Based on our long-term experience, he highlighted the benefits and risks of the different technical options for school wardrobes.
4. Approval
The contracting authority subsequently issued a call for tenders for the supply of the wardrobes. As a condition of participation, a sample of the product offered was to be supplied. We produced the sample and presented it in person to the contracting authority at the requested time. The selection committee was satisfied with the design and technical performance of the sample and, after evaluating all the bids submitted, we were selected as the supplier of the wardrobes.
5. Production
The production was carried out without any complications. At the end of May, in cooperation with a verified external supplier, we installed the wardrobes in the changing rooms.
6. Installation
Our project manager personally supervised the installation and ensured that it was carried out with precision.
The final solution met the expectations of the school management. We are glad that our products have contributed to the comfort of the pupils of the Chlumec Primary School and we believe that they will serve them reliably for a very long time.
We are ready to supply spare parts such as locks, keys and other structural elements throughout the lifetime of the lockers.
